Description

Majnoon doesn’t ease in. Coffee absolute and pomegranate hit first, dark and slightly tart, and then the spices pile on: cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, saffron all at once. It’s dense. It’s almost edible. This top is aggressive by design. It announces itself.

After fifteen minutes, the spices soften. Champaca flowers arrive—creamy, almost creamy—alongside rose. Not a delicate rose. A full one. Leather comes through next, dry and worn, the kind that smells like old books or old jackets. Tobacco sits beneath it, smoke without fire. Tonka bean brings a vanilla-almond sweetness that should feel out of place here but doesn’t. Nagarmotha (cypriol oil) adds an earthy, almost seaweed-like quality that keeps everything grounded.

The base is where Majnoon reveals itself. Two ouds arrive together: Thai oud from Trat, Indian oud from Assam. They’re different animals. One is animalic and funky, the other is smoother, sweeter. Together they create a scent that is unmistakably oud without feeling like a one-note oud fragrance. Patchouli deepens it further. Amber softens it. Incense and vanilla wrap around everything, creating a haze that lasts for hours.

This is a fragrance built for someone who wants to be remembered. It’s not subtle. It’s not for daytime. It’s for evening, for proximity, for being close enough that someone has to breathe you in. It smells expensive. It smells like intention.

One spray is often enough. Two if you’re patient and want the progression to unfold slowly. The dry-down is where it gets good.
